The Reorganization Committee study process begins with the research activities of each of the six subcommittees studying their respective issues affecting the reorganization of the community.  The results of that study are "findings" that are supported by their research.  You will find these in this web site under each of the subcommittees.

The "findings" are presented to the Reorganization Committee at the bi-monthly public meetings.  When these are accepted by the Committee, either as is, or after modification, they become "recommendations" that will be included in the Plan of Reorganization.  You will find these in this web site under the Committee.

The "recommendations" in the form of the plan, will then be presented to the White River Township Board and the Greenwood City Council at a normally scheduled public meeting in December, 2009.  Their formal action will be to adopt, adopt with modification, or reject and order a new plan.  Their actions will be reported in this web site.

When adopted by these legislative bodies, the plan will be presented to the community in a series of public forums.  The public will then determine the acceptability of the Plan of Reorganization via a referendum on the ballot in the primary election of May, 2010.  You will be advised of the time and place of these meetings, and the wording of the referendum, on this web site.

The outcome of the election will be the "final approval" as to whether the reorganization as described in the Plan of Reorganization will be placed in effect, or is abandoned.  The decision to accept the plan will require a favorable vote by at least 51% of each political subdivision.
